Tulipanen

Through an open-close mechanism, the lamp’s shades can be adjusted, affecting both the spread and intensity of the light, from focused illumination directed at the table to soft, ambient lighting that highlights the faces around it.

The design strikes a balance between the technical and the poetic, visible mechanical elements contrast with an organic form language and a color palette inspired by the silhouette and movement of a tulip.

Designed with the kitchen-living space in mind, the lamp meets the need for flexible lighting in multifunctional environments. It appeals to users seeking a sensory and interactive lamp.

” I had the good luck to supervise Freya´s project at DSKD. It´s super work. I thought I´d draw particular attention to the use of drawing to explore and resolve design issues. And further, I´d like also commend Freya for tenaciously pursuing the fine-engineering aspects of this that were required to realise the aesthetic goals. The two are here not separable. Great design: art, science and social science. ”
